The Shadow Ring

“I beckon you, brothers and sisters, to the Shadow Ring.

The Cult of Forgotten Shadow wishes to extend an invitation to our allies within the Horde- be you alive, or be you dead, all may benefit from the Shadow’s lesson. Respect, Tenacity, and Power are tools and tenants that may prove essential in our darkening realm.. and we mean to offer understanding in a form that all may comprehend..”

WHAT IS IT?

Undercity Nexus’ brawling night once again returns as a Cult of the Forgotten Shadow training practice known as The Shadow Ring. This tournament-style brawl is an attempt to teach the lessons of Respect, Tenacity, and Power- the three base tenants of the Cult- by putting ally against ally. Those that make it to the final round will receive gold! Though, really, the hope is that the characters come away with wisdom and discipline as well as coin.

How does it work?

The brawl will use a d100 system, much like the past events have. Please click here for an explanation and example of the rp-dice system. All participants need to know these rules before starting! Using this system, we will hold a multi-round tournament, the number of rounds depending on how many entrants there are (sixteen entrants max, for a total of four rounds).

The participants’ roleplay should be posted in raid, but you don’t need to post multi-paragraph. You can turn your specific duel into a battle of wits instead of a battle of brawn- the points above don’t mean your character is injured, it’s just a way to judge failures and successes. Remember to be OOCly respectful to those you’re facing! Whisper them to ask questions, let’s keep OOC to a minimum- spectators, please RP outside of the raid.

It is advised that entrants come on time at 7:00 pm and speak to Deklavar, whom takes the sign-ins; whether or not we hit the preferred number, we tend to start as soon as we can- if we don’t have sixteen players, we’ll make do with fewer, but that always gets tricky. We keep track of who signs up in what order- there’s always a line! Please arrive on time!

As a warning, the event does run sort of late (usually a few hours, depending on how long people take to finish their rounds) so if you intend to participate, make certain your schedule is free! If you can’t participate, that’s okay- characters may spectate and even help mend the brawlers between rounds. Food and drink is usually provided, to the imagination of the roleplayers (unless you want to cater, then by all means, go for it)!

Lastly, if you must AFK- please let the raid know, and try not to be gone for more than fifteen minutes. We don’t want to hold up the brackets for too long. We understand that life happens! Anyone that must leave can forfeit, and based on the circumstances, the coordinators will figure out what to do with your spot.

We hope to see you there!

If you have any questions, please contact Nadaelius or Deklavar.

If you wish to spectate instead of participate, very well- and we might need a medic or two to deal with the wounded. There won’t be any fights to the death, but there may certainly be some grievous injuries..

Much like the brawling nights before it, The Shadow Ring will use a d100 dice system. The winner will receive 2000 gold. If you or your guild wish to attend, please check your calender or send an in-game message to Nadaelius.

Upcoming RP-PVP: The Haunted Mines

Coming Soon: The Haunted Mines RP-PVP, inspired by Heroes of the Storm.

When the mines were abandoned after the thicket of war, members of the ‘Cult of the Damned’ made the forgotten tunnels a dark sanctuary to further their sinister goals. A misunderstanding has put the Alliance and Horde at odds, but deep within the tunnels a lone survivor of the Cult cowers in fear, holding onto a single skull of dark power. What information does this cultist have and what horrific endgame were they trying to fulfill?

“His name was Desrind Monroe.”

forsaken_rp_guild.jpg

We had ventured to the Soul Forge under the pretense of destroying the treacherous banshee that had called me its host. Unfortunately, things.. got out of hand.

I couldn’t remember who had attacked me, who it was that pushed that banshee into me. But when Riddle pressed the spirit for an answer by using the Soul Forge and Ansadril’s hammer, demanding to know who her master was.. and when she gave up the name, everything fell to shit.

Salvatore Valrond was a death knight recruited by Ickariss, our Quartermaster. The dumb fool didn’t even realize who he was at the time- how could he have known? Valrond was the traitor among us. He had manipulated us all..

..and when the banshee spoke his name, he revealed himself to us, and what was worse- had taken our champion, High Executor Desrind Monroe, captive. But he was not a hostage. Valrond burned Desrind alive, sending him into true death.

We could not find the traitor, and he’d left us a present.. some sort of awful, twisted, monstrosity of the Old Gods. It had crawled forth from a pit, and when we had defeated it, it fell back from whence it came.. taking our Spymistress with it.

One by one, we leapt into the pit to save her, the beast as our cushion- but she did not need our help. We observed, instead, the horrific room we had landed in, so many yards under the world… a chamber filled with hundreds of people, head all bowed. Silent, worshiping, waiting- we evacuated by use of the necromancer’s portal, immediately.

We learned so little, yet experienced so much.. and have lost a man we will never be able to replace.

His name was Desrind Monroe. He was a father, friend, and loyal soldier of the Forsaken. We will memorialize him within the coming week, as is only right.”

Member of the Month June 2014: Osmion Roh

Image

Rp Name: Osmion Roh

Character/Class: Osmion, 90 Warlock / Fel Pyromaniac

What They Think of the Undercity Nexus:
“Interesting that a group that is so diverse within the Forsaken can work so well together on a singular goal.”

Birth Place/Death Place: Born in Arathi, died in the Violet Hold, Dalaran

Description:
Taller than most Forsaken, his face usually looks down at others of his kind perched high upon his shoulders. His face, if not hidden by a mask of sorts would show that somehow kept most of it’s flesh despite some slight decay and a reattached jaw. Unlike many of his comrades due to several of his bones being broken he is quite weak and brittle, a testament to the way in which he died and he is always hunched over.
Gloves cover boney arms devoid of flesh that would at a glance be thought to have been seared off from the elbows down. He is never without one of his powerful staves which he needs to support himself and to walk around. These are gripped tightly by his long boney fingers.

Aspirations:
“A weird question to be asked about. My private motivations are just that.”
