“His name was Desrind Monroe.”

forsaken_rp_guild.jpg

We had ventured to the Soul Forge under the pretense of destroying the treacherous banshee that had called me its host. Unfortunately, things.. got out of hand.

I couldn’t remember who had attacked me, who it was that pushed that banshee into me. But when Riddle pressed the spirit for an answer by using the Soul Forge and Ansadril’s hammer, demanding to know who her master was.. and when she gave up the name, everything fell to shit.

Salvatore Valrond was a death knight recruited by Ickariss, our Quartermaster. The dumb fool didn’t even realize who he was at the time- how could he have known? Valrond was the traitor among us. He had manipulated us all..

..and when the banshee spoke his name, he revealed himself to us, and what was worse- had taken our champion, High Executor Desrind Monroe, captive. But he was not a hostage. Valrond burned Desrind alive, sending him into true death.

We could not find the traitor, and he’d left us a present.. some sort of awful, twisted, monstrosity of the Old Gods. It had crawled forth from a pit, and when we had defeated it, it fell back from whence it came.. taking our Spymistress with it.

One by one, we leapt into the pit to save her, the beast as our cushion- but she did not need our help. We observed, instead, the horrific room we had landed in, so many yards under the world… a chamber filled with hundreds of people, head all bowed. Silent, worshiping, waiting- we evacuated by use of the necromancer’s portal, immediately.

We learned so little, yet experienced so much.. and have lost a man we will never be able to replace.

His name was Desrind Monroe. He was a father, friend, and loyal soldier of the Forsaken. We will memorialize him within the coming week, as is only right.”

Interrogation Of The Lich – Soul Forge

BeFunky_8-13-2014 8-51-48 PM.jpg

“The trail of the Cult of the Damned has grown cold in Northrend. What we have left over from our purge of the Necropolis is the captive Lich and a parasitic banshee. Given the resolute willpower of the captives and their ability to shrug off standard interrogation tactics I felt that the best method in which we were to conduct their questioning was by putting them through the abandoned Scourge soul forge. First to attempt control of the Soul Forge was Ansadril, who was unable to attune himself to the power of the forge. Secondly was our Deathguard Shield Maiden Mauv, who perhaps due to her recent banshee possession was tainted enough for the forge to welcome her. Never before had we attempted or bore witness to a soul forge being used for torture….nor do we care to repeat the act.

From the information harvested via the Forge the Cultists are active in Azeroth with their primary bases located within the Alliance in Stormwind and even the Forsaken. We will be departing from Northrend shortly to return home. -U”

Cult Of The Damned

“Much to our dismay, one of our own has been compromised. For the entire duration of our campaign, if not longer Mauveitte has been under the grips of a banshee, possessed and not of her own free will. We will have to perform an exorcism later. The venture into the base of the Cultists was no small task, and left most of us bloodied and unable to advance without first falling back to repair and mend. After securing the teleporter, we sent bombs in advance of us to clear the way and then ventures into the necropolis. Much of the Cult had fled our advance, clearing out and leaving behind a tangled mess and last ditch effort defenses. Where they fled to we do not know, but everything indicates a return to Azeroth.

Lady Larrendias seeks an audience, with pressing news about the Argent Crusade. -U”

Riding out, we knew we faced staggering odds. Many of us made plans for in the event of capature, to find a quick death through suicide rather than endure the Cult's experiments or worse.

The teleporter into the necropolis was guarded. Scourge and Cultist abominations are horrors we are very familure with on the battlefield, even so these beasts tore us apart. The living among us faired poorly, and we suspect will soon gravely ill after being subject to the abominations vomit, and plague sprays.

Inside the necropolis proper we found the twisted halls largely deserted, the Cutlists having fled in advance. Their retreat was hasty, and various materials were left behind, as well as test subjects, and other twisted creations.

Pressing forward, we cleaned out the necropolis of the remaining constructs and experiments, collecting any material we could find that they left in their wake.

Northrend Campaign: The Water Walk

“The Campaign in Northrend is progressing. We have found a wide variety of problems that demand addressing. With so few guardians in the North left, it seems like old threats are resurrecting anew. We were able to capture one, technically two Worgen in regards to the hit and run ambushes being conducted against Vengeance Landing. One whole Worgen, semi feral in mind, was brought back alive and interrogated…while the brains of another was brought back. Through the application of necromancy and interrogation we learned of the hold out of this Worgen next, but not of the intentions as the captured subjects were just low level grunts. The Isle must be investigated, and whatever threats there dealt with. Favoring the cover of night we rode out.

The Dawnfury Diplomatic Liaison has been pleasant company, and eager to get her hands dirty: a refreshing change of pace away from the typical nature of most elves. Alorinis did well when he selected her for our contact. -U”

With intel on a location for us to respond to, we rallied and rode out with High Executor Dersind taking the lead. Should he fall Deathguards Henry and Lograk were to rise in his place. The ultimate destination was a remote island north of Vengeance Landing.

Arriving under the cover of night on the shores south of the Isle, we elected to walk the distance under the water to the Isle to better remain under cover. The distant mournful howls of Worgen haunted our advance up until the water drown out the sound. What lurks on the Isle needs to be dealt with and the source terror there ended.
